At InHealth, we deliver vital diagnostic and screening services on behalf of the NHS and private sector. We're looking for a Head of Data & Analytics to shape the future of data and analytics across our Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) and Child Health Information Services (CHIS).
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the transition from traditional reporting to a modern, data-driven analytics function, helping improve outcomes for colleagues, customers and patients.
The opportunity
InHealth is investing in a new cloud-based reporting environment and the Microsoft Fabric platform to modernise and enhance our analytics capability.
Working alongside Senior Developers, Data Engineers and an established Analytics team, you'll lead the development of scalable analytics solutions, data products and reporting capabilities, helping embed data-driven decision making across the organisation.
You will also play a key role in supporting data platform transformation and migration activities, helping assess readiness, identify dependencies and prepare workloads for transition into our modern analytics environment.
This role operates on a hybrid basis, with one day per week required in our Middlewich office. Applicants must be within a reasonable commuting distance.
What you'll do
- Define and deliver the data and analytics strategy and roadmap for DESP and CHIS
- Lead the adoption, development and governance of the Microsoft Fabric platform
- Design and implement analytics solutions using Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Semantic Models and Power BI
- Develop data products, dashboards, KPI pipelines and reporting solutions that drive operational performance through analytics and automation
- Support and help shape data platform migration activities, including assessing readiness, identifying dependencies and preparing workloads for transition
- Champion data governance, data quality and best practice reporting
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing analytics team
- Influence senior stakeholders and promote a data-driven culture across InHealth
- Act as the senior data and analytics lead for DESP and CHIS, providing strategic direction and expertise
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Data & Analytics function for DESP and CHIS
- Drive the ongoing development of InHealth's Microsoft Fabric and data platform capabilities
- Deliver management information, operational insight and statutory reporting
- Identify, develop and implement new analytics products and solutions
- Advocate for the effective use of data across the organisation
- Contribute as a key member of the wider leadership team
- Shape the long-term analytics vision and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Build strong relationships with operational, technology and executive stakeholders
What we're looking for
You'll be a passionate data leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, bringing technical expertise alongside the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
Essential skills and experience
- Significant experience leading data, analytics or information services functions
- Demonstrable experience designing and delivering analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric
- Experience using Microsoft Fabric for data analytics, reporting and automation of KPI pipelines
- Experience with Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Semantic Models and Power BI
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
- Experience of data modelling, data governance and enterprise reporting best practice
- Understanding of OneLake architecture and Medallion Architecture
- Hands-on experience supporting or planning data platform migrations, including assessing readiness, identifying dependencies and preparing workloads for transition
- Experience translating business requirements into practical analytical solutions
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior leaders and non-technical audiences
- Experience leading, developing and mentoring analytics teams
- Experience within healthcare, operational reporting or similarly regulated environments
