About the role

As Finance Manager, you’ll play a central role in ensuring high‑quality financial control, clear insight and strong governance across a growing healthcare organisation that supports millions of patients every year.

This is a hands‑on management role within Group Finance, combining technical delivery, people leadership and close partnership with teams across the business. You’ll own defined areas of the close, balance sheet and cashflow, while helping to strengthen finance processes, controls and systems.

🎯 The Role

As Finance Manager, you will sit within Group Finance and operate close to senior stakeholders, supporting strong financial control and insight across the Group.

You will:

  • Support a disciplined, well‑controlled month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close
  • Take ownership of defined balance sheet areas, ensuring accuracy, consistency and robust documentation
  • Provide high‑quality financial information and insight to support decision‑making
  • Lead and develop a small team, setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards
  • Act as a proactive finance partner across operational and central teams

📍 Location: Beaconsfield (hybrid working)
🕒 Contract: Full‑time
🚗 Some travel to sites may be required

🧩 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver month‑end close activities for allocated entities and balance sheet areas
  • Own balance sheet areas such as accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed assets, IFRS 16 leases, payroll and intercompany
  • Prepare and review high‑quality reconciliations, escalating risks and issues appropriately
  • Support cash reporting, cashflow forecasting and working‑capital activity
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing clear audit trails and responses
  • Support capex tracking and capitalisation in partnership with Capital Projects teams
  • Contribute to finance process improvements, controls and documentation
  • Support finance systems initiatives and change activity
  • Manage and develop c.3 direct reports, providing coaching and development

🔍 What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands‑on experience in month‑end close, balance sheet ownership and financial controls within a multi‑entity environment
  • Experience reviewing reconciliations and audit deliverables to a high standard
  • Exposure to cashflow, working capital and capex accounting
  • Confident people manager with experience developing junior team members
  • Detail‑focused, proactive and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced Group Finance setting

🎓 Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred). Candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.
