About the role

Consultant Pharmacist - Radiology, Endoscopy & NHS Screening Services

Contract: Bank / Part Time - Consultancy
Location: National (remote with occasional site visits)

At InHealth, our purpose is simple: to make healthcare better.

We support over 5 million patients every year, working in partnership with the NHS to reduce waiting times, improve access to diagnostics, and deliver high-quality care closer to home.

We’re now looking for a Consultant Pharmacist to shape and strengthen medicines governance across our radiology, endoscopy and screening services - playing a critical role in ensuring safe, effective and compliant care at scale.

 The opportunity

This is a high-impact, strategic advisory role where your expertise will influence how medicines are managed across a national diagnostic provider.

As our senior medicines governance lead, you’ll work closely with clinical and operational leaders to embed best practice, strengthen governance, and continuously improve patient safety.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading the medicines management strategy across radiology, endoscopy and screening services
  • Acting as the organisation’s expert advisor on medicines governance and safety
  • Developing and maintaining policies and frameworks aligned to UK legislation, CQC standards and national guidance
  • Authoring and overseeing Patient Group Directives (PGDs) across clinical pathways
  • Providing specialist advice on contrast agents, bowel preparation, sedation and medicines handling
  • Contributing to Medicines Management Committee meetings
  • Supporting audits, incident reviews and quality improvement initiatives
  • Keeping services aligned with emerging legislation, safety alerts and national best practice
  • Supporting and developing clinical teams through training and guidance

About you

You’re a credible, consultant-level pharmacist who is confident operating at a senior level and influencing across multidisciplinary teams.

You will bring:

  • Registration with the GPhC
  • Significant experience in medicines governance within NHS or independent healthcare
  • Expertise in policy development and PGDs
  • Strong understanding of UK medicines legislation, CQC requirements and NHS frameworks
  • The ability to engage, advise and influence senior stakeholders

Experience within diagnostics, radiology, endoscopy or screening services would be beneficial, but not essential.

Why join InHealth?

  • Make a real difference – support services that improve access and outcomes for millions of NHS patients
  • National impact – shape medicines governance across a growing, multi-specialty organisation
  • Flexibility – consultancy arrangements that support balance and autonomy
  • Collaborative culture – work with teams driven by our values: Trust, Care, Passion and Fresh Thinking
