Hours:
- Monday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm (4 hrs)
- Wednesday: 8:30am – 2:30pm (6 hrs)
- Thursday: 8:30am – 2:30pm (6 hrs)
- Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm (6.5 hrs, unpaid half-hour lunch)

Our Surrey and North East Hampshire Breast Screening Service supports an eligible population of around 186,000 women across a three-year screening round, with a team of over 50 dedicated staff working across our static centre and five mobile screening units.
About the role
This is a varied and rewarding role combining frontline reception duties with radiographic assistant support to our Mammography team.
You’ll be the first point of contact for patients at the Jarvis Breast Centre – welcoming them warmly, supporting registration, and ensuring their visit runs smoothly and professionally. Alongside this, you’ll provide essential behind-the-scenes support to help keep our breast screening service running efficiently and safely.
What you’ll be doing

Delivering a professional, compassionate reception service for patients and visitors

Supporting the Mammography team by downloading and managing imaging from mobile screening units onto PACS

Tracking image batches, paperwork and reporting workflows accurately

Liaising with other breast screening centres and NHS Trusts to request and transfer images

Preparing and checking documentation to support reporting, arbitration and data entry

Maintaining records, stock levels and quality documentation in line with QMS protocols

Working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a smooth patient journey
This role involves a mix of desk-based work and some physical handling of film batches and paperwork.

You’ll need

GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)

Strong IT skills and confidence using databases and Microsoft packages

Experience in an administrative, customer-facing or patient-focused role

An understanding of confidentiality, data protection and patient care

The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to service needs at short notice
