About The Role

Nurse Team Leader – Lung Cancer Screening Service

Remote with travel

Help save lives through early detection. Join our Lung Cancer Screening Service as a Nurse Team Leader and play a key role in delivering a high-quality national programme that identifies lung disease early and supports patients to access life-changing treatment.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced respiratory nurse to lead and support our nursing team across our mobile screening clinics. You’ll be the clinical expert on the ground—ensuring smooth, safe and effective services both virtually and face to face.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of our Lung Health Check clinics

  • Support, mentor and develop the nursing team

  • Work closely with our Clinical Lead and wider clinical team

  • Attend weekly screening review meetings and contribute expert input

  • Maintain high clinical standards and drive continuous improvement

  • Travel to mobile sites across your region (standard 12-hr shifts, 7-day service)

What you’ll bring

  • Registered nurse (Band 7 level or senior Band 6 with respiratory experience)

  • Strong clinical assessment skills and confidence working autonomously

  • Leadership and line-management experience

  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities

  • Full UK driving licence

Bonus skills (training available)

Spirometry/ARTP, IRMER, smoking cessation, leadership or teaching qualifications, and experience in screening pathways.
