🌸 Breast Care Nurse
Location: Exeter, Devon
Hours: 21.6 hours per week (Monday–Wednesday)
Are you passionate about providing exceptional care and supporting women through some of the most important moments in their lives? We’re looking for a dedicated Breast Care Nurse to join our friendly team in Exeter.
The North and East Devon Breast Screening Service invites around 100,000 women for screening every 3 years. Our static screening unit at Matford Business Centre offers both screening and assessment, while our two mobile units cover 19 community sites across North and East Devon – from supermarket and council car parks to hospital grounds. Patients needing treatment are referred to the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust for surgical and oncology services.
This is a role where you can truly make a difference, offering not only clinical expertise but also vital emotional and informational support.
⭐ What you’ll be doing
As a Breast Care Nurse at InHealth, you’ll be a key part of our multidisciplinary team, ensuring every woman receives compassionate, high-quality care during their assessment journey.
You will:
-
Provide professional nursing care, reassurance, and support to women undergoing breast assessment investigations
-
Identify women who may need extra support and guide them with clarity and compassion through treatment pathways
-
Offer emotional and practical support to patients and their families, signposting or referring when appropriate
-
Support patients at high familial risk of breast cancer with clear, evidence-based advice
-
Ensure patients have the right information to make informed decisions about their treatment
-
Act as a trusted resource for colleagues, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice
-
Champion patient-centred care across our screening service area
🌟 What we’re looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
-
An experienced RGN (with at least 5 years post-qualifying experience)
-
Skilled in supporting women through the challenges of diagnosis and treatment
-
An excellent communicator – empathetic, professional, and confident in handling sensitive conversations
-
Organised, adaptable, and able to prioritise effectively in a busy clinical environment
-
A strong team player who can also work independently
-
Committed to maintaining high standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and patient care
It would be a bonus if you have knowledge of NBSS systems, the NHS Breast Screening Programme, or Breast Cancer Care guidelines – but this isn’t essential.
💙 Why join us?

You’ll have the chance to work innovatively, share your expertise, and deliver care that truly puts patients first – all while being supported by a collaborative, forward-thinking organisation.
